Indiana State beats Southern Illinois 78-72
CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP)—Jay Tunnell scored 20 points to lead Indiana State to a 78-72 win over Southern Illinois on Wednesday night.
Rashad Reed added 15 points, Harry Marshall added 14 points and Jordan Printy added 13 points for Indiana State (8-19, 6-10 Missouri Valley), which led 42-38 at halftime.
Southern Illinois (11-16, 6-10) jumped out to a 23-16 lead, but the Sycamores came back and the teams traded the lead until a 7-4 Indiana State run to close the half.
The Sycamores never trailed after the break and led by as much as 16.
Indiana State went 11-for-21 from 3-point range, including four 3-pointers each from Tunnell and Printy.
Anthony Booker led the Salukis with 18 points. Ryan Hare had 16 points, Kevin Dillard added 15 points and Carlton Fay chipped in 11 points for Southern Illinois.
