Tenn.-Martin tops Tennessee Tech 71-62
MARTIN, Tenn. (AP)—Lester Hudson had 33 points and 11 rebounds to lead Tennessee-Martin to its 10th straight victory, 71-62 over Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.
Although Hudson, the nation’s second-leading scorer behind Davidson’s Stephen Curry, has scored 20 or more points in every game this season for the Skyhawks (18-6, 11-3 Ohio Valley Conference), this was his eighth double-double.
The loss extended Tennessee Tech’s losing streak to five games.
The Golden Eagles (11-15, 5-11) led 35-33 at halftime, but couldn’t hold on.
Marquis Weddle added 17 points for the Skyhawks and Reuben Clayton scored 11.
Kevin Murphy scored 23 points for Tennessee Tech, including 12 in the first half, and Daniel Northern added 13 points and 17 rebounds.
The Skyhawks also defeated the Golden Eagles 83-72 on Jan. 15.
