Murray State tops Tennessee Tech 73-52
MURRAY, Ky. (AP)—Tyler Holloway hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 points, surpassing 1,000 points for his career, to lead Murray State past Tennessee Tech 73-52 on Thursday night.
Holloway became the 34th Murray State player to reach 1,000 points.
Danero Thomas added 14 points, Ivan Aska had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tony Easley had 10 points and 12 boards for the Racers (13-10, 8-5 Ohio Valley Conference), who have won five of their last six games.
Murray State led 31-28 at halftime and by 10 with 17:31 left. The Golden Eagles (11-14, 5-10) used a 10-2 spurt to cut the deficit to two with 11:39 remaining.
Holloway hit three straight 3-pointers as Murray State went on a 25-5 run to avenge a 61-55 loss to Tennessee Tech on Jan. 17.
Kevin Murphy led the Golden Eagles with 12 points and Daniel Northern had 10 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
