Jacksonville knocks off North Florida 72-50
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Marcus Allen had 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead Jacksonville to a 72-50 victory over North Florida on Thursday night.
It was the fifth double-double of the season for Allen, who helped the Dolphins (14-10, 12-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) remain in first in the conference.
Jacksonville held North Florida (5-20, 3-12) to 15 first-half points and Travis Cohn’s three-point play gave the Dolphins a 37-17 lead with 17:23 left in the game.
The lead reached 60-37 on Ayron Hardy’s three-point play with 4:51 remaining.
Jacksonville was 34 of 42 from the free-throw line, the most free throws the Dolphins have made in a game since 2006.
Lehmon Colbert scored 13 points and Hardy added 12 as Jacksonville won its sixth straight against the Ospreys.
Stan Januska scored 12 points and Zack Riggins added 10 points for North Florida.
