Eastern Kentucky defeats Southeast Missouri 84-64
RICHMOND, Ky. (AP)—Mike Rose scored 27 points to lead five Eastern Kentucky players in double figures as the Colonels defeated Southeast Missouri State 84-64 on Thursday night.
Eastern Kentucky (15-10, 8-6 Ohio Valley Conference) shot 52 percent from the field (32 of 61) and improved to 9-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better.
Rose has scored 20 or more points 16 times in his career. He also led the Colonels with five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Southeast Missouri (3-22, 0-14) led 12-3 when Eastern Kentucky went on a 28-2 run, scoring 21 straight points in one stretch. The Colonels led 41-24 at halftime.
Josh Taylor scored 14 points, Justin Stommes had 12 and Papa Oppong and Jorge Camacho scored 10 points each for Eastern Kentucky.
Herring scored 26 points, Kenard Moore added 16 and LaMont Russell had 10 for Southeast Missouri.
