Vermont defeats Boston U. 75-47
BURLINGTON, VT. (AP)—Mike Trimboli scored 17 points and Vermont pulled away from Boston University in the second half for a 75- 47 victory Wednesday night.
The win gives the Catamounts (19-7, 10-3) sole possession of first place in America East.
Vermont took a 36-32 lead at the half and led 50-42 with 12:43 left in the game before going 25-5 run to put away the game. The Catamounts shot 54 percent from the field and held BU to six field goals in the second half.
Corey Lowe led all scorers with 20 points for the Terriers (14-10, 9-3) and John Holland had 14.
Trimboli led five players in double figures for Vermont. Marqus Blakely had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Colin McIntosh and Maurice Joseph each had 13 points and Garvey Young added 10.
