Maine defeats Hartford 68-63
ORONO, Maine (AP)—Sean McNally hit two free throws and a layup in the final minutes to help Maine on to a 68-63 victory over Hartford on Wednesday night.
After Michael Turner hit a 3-pointer to give Hartford its biggest lead of the game, 56-50, with 6:20 to go, Maine scored six straight points to tie.
Turner, who finished with 26 points, hit a jumper to put the Hawks back up by two. But McNally tied the score at 58 with two free throws, and then followed with a layup with one minute left.
Hartford (6-20, 2-10 America East) never caught up as Maine went 8-for-8 at the line in the final 36 seconds.
Marc Socoby had 15 points and McNally 14 for Maine (9-16, 4-8).
