Hot shooting leads N. Dakota St. past IUPUI
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Brett Winkleman and Mike Nelson each scored 22 points as North Dakota State defeated IUPUI 91-69 on Saturday for its 10th consecutive win.
Nelson’s point total was a season high. Michael Tveidt scored 19 points and Ben Woodside added 15 for the Bison (18-5, 12-1 Summit), who got 84 points from their starting five.
Jon Avery and Adrian Moss scored 13 points and Robert Glenn added 12 for IUPUI (13-11, 6-7).
North Dakota State made a season-high 13 3-pointers and shot 56 percent overall.
The Jaguars’ only lead was 2-0, and that lasted for 38 seconds. IUPUI shot 52 percent from the field in the first half, but trailed by 15 points at halftime because the Bison shot 66 percent.
North Dakota State’s biggest lead was 90-62 with just under 3 minutes to play.
