Mayben leads Binghamton past Stony Brook
STONYBROOK, N.Y. (AP)—Emanuel Mayben made a jumper with 4 seconds left in overtime to give Binghamton a 63-61 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.
The Seawolves (13-11, 5-6 America East) had a shot at the win but Marques Cox missed a 3-pointer with 1 second remaining.
D.J. Rivera scored 22 points and Reggie Fuller had 20 for the Bearcats (15-8, 8-3), who shot 43 percent from the field and made 15 of 26 free throws. Mayben finished with 12 points and 10 assists.
Muhammad El-Amin had 16 points for Stony Brook, which outrebounded Binghamton 52-33 but shot 33 percent. Demetrius Young had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Tommy Brenton had 17 boards.
Rivera’s jumper with 4 seconds left in regulation tied it at 52.
Bryan Dougher and Chris Martin had 11 points apiece for the Seawolves, who went 11-for-18 from the free-throw line.
