Kingsley leads SFA to 74-62 win over Lamar

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP)—Matt Kingsley scored 26 points to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 74-62 win over Lamar on Saturday night.

Kingsley was 12 of 16 from the field and had nine rebounds, one short of a double-double.

Josh Alexander scored 13 points, and Eric Bell scored 12 for Stephen F. Austin (15-6, 7-2 Southland).

Kenny Dawkins and Brandon McThay scored 14 points apiece to lead Lamar (12-10, 3-6). Dawkins shot only 4 of 12 from the field and McThay got nine of his points from the free-throw line as the Cardinals struggled shooting the ball.

Lamar shot 38 percent from the floor for the game, compared to 55 percent for the Lumberjacks. Stephen F. Austin had 15 assists to four for Lamar.

Jay Brown and Charlie Harper scored 12 points apiece for the Cardinals.

Stephen F. Austin led 34-28 at halftime.
