Georgia State defeats Delaware 70-67

ATLANTA (AP)—Joe Dukes scored 18 points off the bench and Georgia State defeated Delaware 70-67 on Saturday.

Down 64-62 with 3:36 left to play, Georgia State (7-17, 5-8 Colonial Athletic Association) scored six unanswered points—including four from Dukes— to take a 68-64 lead with 1:06 to play. Dukes hit a jumper with 16 seconds to go for a 70-66 Panthers’ advantage and Delaware’s Marc Egerson scored the game’s final point on a free throw with 9 seconds left.

Dukes, the Panthers leading scorer (13 points per game), was 7 of 9 from the field. Georgia State shot 60 percent in the second half (15 of 25).

Delaware (10-15, 4-9), which took a 37-30 lead into halftime, led 39-30 with 17:37 left in the game.

Jawan Carter paced the Fightin Blue Hens with 17 points, followed by Jawan carter with 14 and Brian Johnson and Jim Ledsome with 11 each.
