Jones’ shooting, 13 assists fuel 81-69 Oakland win
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP)—Johnathon Jones shot 7-for-8 from the field, including all three 3-point attempts, and dished out 13 assists for Oakland, which got its ninth straight home win with an 81-69 victory over Oral Roberts 81-69 Thursday night.
Oral Roberts had won eight straight entering the game.
Oakland (14-11, 7-5 Summit) led 37-30 at the half and shot 56 percent (32-for-57) from the field for the game. The Golden Grizzlies outshot the Golden Eagles from 3-point range, 12-for-24 to 4-for-16, and out-rebounded them 31-26.
Oral Roberts (11-12, 9-2) shot 51 percent (30-for-59) from the field.
Erik Kangas scored a team-high 21 points for Oakland. Keith Benson had 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Dan Waterstradt added 10 points.
Kevin Ford scored 19 points, and Robert Jarvis added 16 for Oral Roberts.
