Eastern Washington beats Sacramento State 67-46
CHENEY, Wash. (AP)—Eastern Washington scored the game’s first 17 points against Sacramento State and never looked back on Thursday night, getting 14 points from Brandon Moore in a 67-46 rout.
Andy Genao added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Benny Valentine 11 points for the Eagles (10-13 overall, 4-7 Big Sky), who broke a six-game losing streak.
Loren Leath had 12 points and Randy Adams 11 for Sacramento State (2-21, 1-9). The Hornets lost their 34th straight road game.
Sparked by consecutive 3-pointers by Milan Stanojevic and seven Sacramento State turnovers, Eastern Washington opened its 17-0 lead before Justin Eller’s basket with 12:27 left in the first half.
Two foul shots by Genao pushed the Eagles’ lead to 33-6 with a little more than four minutes left in the opening half. Genao’s floater with 25 seconds left gave the Eagles a 41-9 halftime lead.
Eastern Washington grabbed its biggest lead, 56-22, to go.
