Georgia State defeats William & Mary 58-51
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP)—Dante Curry scored 13 points to lead Georgia State to a 58-51 victory over William & Mary on Saturday.
The Panthers (6-16, 3-8 Colonial Athletic Association) ended their three-game losing streak and extended William & Mary’s streak to seven consecutive losses.
Georgia State took control with a 9-0 run early in the second half.
The Panthers led 30-28 when Xavier Hansbro hit a jumper for a 32-28 lead with 14:52 left in the game. Rashad Chase followed with a layup, Curry hit another layup and Kevin Lott nailed a 3-pointer to give Georgia State a 39-28 advantage with 11:58 remaining.
William & Mary (6-15, 1-10) cut the lead to 41-35 on David Schneider’s 3-pointer with 10:04 left, but didn’t threaten after that.
Lott added 11 points for Georgia State.
Marcus Kitts led William & Mary with nine points.
