Middle Tennessee handles Louisiana-Monroe 77-54

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP)—Kevin Kanaskie and Demetrius Green each scored 15 points to lead Middle Tennessee State to a 77-54 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night.

Kanaskie added six rebounds and three assists, making him the all-time assist leader in school history with 466. Desmond Yates chipped in with 14 points for the Blue Raiders (14-8, 8-3 Sun Belt Conference).

Kanaskie’s 3-pointer with 14:47 to play in the first half gave the Blue Raiders an early 14-3 lead. They led by 23 points in the first half, and held a 48-28 lead at halftime. Middle Tennessee maintained their lead, and led by at least 20 points the rest of the way.

The Warhawks (7-14, 3-7) were paced by Lawrence Gilbert, who scored 11 points.

The Blue Raiders outrebounded Louisiana-Monroe 41-31, and scored 31 points off of the Warhawks’ 22 turnovers.
