N. Iowa beats Indiana St. 61-57
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP)—Adam Koch scored six of his 14 points in a closing 11-4 run that gave Northern Iowa a 61-57 victory over Indiana State on Saturday.
Indiana State (4-18, 2-9 Missouri Valley) led by 10 points in the first half and 53-50 with 5 minutes left in the second period before a layup by Koch started the winning rally by the Panthers (16-6, 10-1).
Another layup by Ali Farokhmanesh gave Northern Iowa its first lead since early in the first half.
The Sycamores still trailed by one point after a basket by Jay Tunnell with 35 seconds left, but Farokhmanesh hit two free throws and Johnny Moran made one of two foul shots in the closing seconds to preserve the victory.
Jordan Eglseder added 13 points and Moran finished with 12 for the Panthers. Harry Marshall led Indiana State with 14 points, while Jordan Printy had 14 and Rashad Reed added 13.
