The Citadel beats UNC-Greensboro 66-60
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Zach Urbanus scored 20 points and The Citadel held North Carolina-Greensboro scoreless for the final 3:52, going on a 10-0 run to seal a 66-60 win on Saturday night.
With the score tied at 54-54, UNC-Greensboro’s Mikko Koivisto hit three free throws with 4:31 left and nailed a 3-pointer just 39 seconds later to put his squad ahead 60-56. Those would be UNC-Greensboro’s last points.
The Citadel hit eight foul shots—four by Demetrius Nelson, and a Cameron Wells’ jumper to seal the win.
Nelson finished with 19 points, hitting 13 of 14 free throws, and Wells added 15 points for the Bulldogs (13-10, 8-4 Southern Conference).
Damian Eargle led the Spartans (3-17, 2-9) with 18 points, Koivisto added 14, Ben Stywall had 11 and Kendall Toney chipped in with 10.
The Citadel was 25-for-30 from the foul line.
