Veazey’s 17 points lead Navy over Colgate, 75-64
HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP)—Mark Veazey scored 17 points, all in the second half, and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Navy to a 75-64 win over Colgate Saturday night.
Chris Harris had 17 points for the Midshipmen (15-7, 4-3 Patriot League), and Kaleo Kina added 15.
Navy started the game on an 11-2 run, but Colgate (6-14, 2-5) rallied to tie it at 15 after Ben Jonson hit back-to-back jumpers. The score was tied at 32 at the half.
Colgate took a 38-32 lead early in the second half on 3-pointers by Yaw Gyawu and Anthony Hill. Harris hit a 3 to give Navy the lead for good with 14:05 left.
The Raiders shot 31 percent from the field in the second half and were 1-for-12 from beyond the arc. Navy made 16 free throws in the second half to seal the game.
For Colgate, Jonson and Gyawu each had 16 points.
