JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Zack Riggins scored five of North Florida’s final eight points as the Ospreys rallied to defeat South Carolina-Upstate 51-50 on Friday night.

Riggins, who had 14 points and was 6-for-7 from the field, helped North Florida (5-16, 3-8 Atlantic Sun Conference) overcome a 13-point deficit with 13:19 left.

The Ospreys took the lead with 2:40 remaining and were ahead 51-49 when Bobby Davis had a chance to tie the game with five seconds left.

When Davis missed the second of two free throws, the Spartans immediately fouled Riggins, who missed a foul shot one second later. De’Marion Gordon, who ranks third in the A-Sun from long range, missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer for South Carolina-Upstate.

The Spartans (4-16, 3-8), who won the teams’ previous meeting 69-64 on Jan. 3, were led by Davis with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
