St. Francis, Pa., ends skid, tops Monmouth 65-51
LORETTO, Pa. (AP)—Marquis Ford matched his career high with 19 points, and St. Francis, Pa., snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 65-51 win over Monmouth on Thursday night.
St. Francis (5-15, 2-8 Northeast Conference) led 29-25 at the half, then pulled away by shooting 54.2 percent in the second half and holding Monmouth to 27.6 percent.
Devin Sweetney had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Red Flash, who hadn’t won since beating St. Francis, N.Y., on Dec. 6.
Mislav Jukic had nine points for St. Francis, and Cale Nelson had nine assists to move into sixth place on the school’s career list.
Will Campbell came off the bench to score 21 points for Monmouth (6-16, 4-6), which has one road win this season. Travis Taylor added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks.
