George Mason downs Delaware 78-55

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP)—Dre Smith and Michael Morrison scored 14 points apiece as George Mason halted its first losing streak of the season with a 78-55 win over Delaware on Tuesday night.

The Patriots (15-5, 8-2 Colonial Athletic Association) overcame a slow start to end a two-game skid. George Mason took a 37-35 halftime advantage, then used a 20-4 run to open the second half and cruise to its 11th straight win at home.

The Patriots played their second game without second-leading scorer John Vaughan, who is expected to return later this week after suffering a concussion Jan. 21 at Northeastern.

Marc Egerson had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Hens (9-13, 3-7).

Cam Long recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as George Mason out-rebounded Delaware 47-29 and held the Blue Hens to 37.9 percent shooting (22 of 58).
