Coppin State beats Howard 77-69
BALTIMORE, Md. (AP)—Tywain McKee scored 22 points, and the Coppin State Eagles beat the Howard Bison 77-69 on Monday night.
McKee also added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Eagles (5-15, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Michael Harper scored 16 and Mike Buckley added 14.
The Bison (3-16, 1-5) were led by Kyle Riley, who scored 22. C.J. Prince chipped in with 16 points.
Howard shot 54.5 percent from the field (24-for-44), but committed 25 turnovers.
The Eagles, who only turned the ball over seven times, capitalized on Howard’s errors by scoring 27 points off of Bison turnovers.
Coppin State also totaled 16 steals, four coming from Vince Goldsberry. They outscored Howard 34-28 in the paint.
