Rider 78, St. Peter’s 67
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Ryan Thompson scored 25 points—including five 3-pointers—to lead Rider to a 78-67 win over St. Peter’s on Sunday.
Novar Gadson came off the bench to add 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Broncs (11-8, 6-3 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), while Justin Robinson finished with 10 points and five rebounds as Rider hit 51.8 percent from the field.
Wesley Jenkins had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Peacocks (5-15, 2-8), while Ryan Bacon added 15 points and Nick Leon had 12.
The teams traded baskets early on, but Rider soon took command with a 24-1 run midway through the first half and led 49-27 at the break. The Peacocks then tried to rally, opening the second half with an 11-1 run, but Rider regained its shooting touch and maintained double-digit leads throughout the half.
