Hofstra beats James Madison 69-68
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP)—Charles Jenkins hit a jumper with a second left to lift Hofstra to a 69-68 victory over James Madison on Saturday night.
Jenkins scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Pride (13-7, 5-4 Colonial Athletic Association). Cornelius Vines had 12 points and Nathaniel Lester added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Vines made a 3-pointer with 1:43 remaining in the second half to give Hofstra a 67-63 lead. Julius Wells responded with a 3-pointer 20 seconds later, cutting the lead down to one.
Neither team scored until Juwann James was sent to the free-throw line with 12 seconds remaining. James made both, but Jenkins answered back with the game winner.
The Dukes (13-8, 5-4) were paced by James, who scored 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting. Devon Moore added 18 points and six rebounds.
