Oakland, Mich. beats IUPUI 75-57
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP)—Erik Kangas scored 31 points to lead Oakland to a 75-57 Summit League victory over IUPUI on Thursday night.
Kangas had a career-best 39 in Saturday’s 93-88 victory at IPFW, and followed it up with a 20-point second half against the Jaguars. He hit 11 of 15 field goals, including eight of 11 3-pointers. He is now second on Oakland’s career 3-point list with 287, five behind Jason Rozycki.
Drew Maynard added 15 for Oakland (12-9, 5-3 Summit League), while Keith Benson had nine points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman Alex Young led the Jaguars (9-10, 2-6) with 14 points, while Gary Patterson added 13 and Jon Avery had 12.
The Golden Grizzlies had a 33-26 halftime advantage, and kept IUPUI at bay for most of the second half, thanks to seven 3-pointers. The Jaguars got as close as 57-51, but Kangas scored the next eight points to put the game away.
