James Madison beats Towson 70-59
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP)—Juwann James scored 17 points to lead five James Madison players in double figures as the Dukes defeated Towson 70-59 on Wednesday night.
James Madison (13-7, 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association) avenged a 58-57 loss at Towson on Jan. 3. Since then, the Dukes have posted a 5-1 record while the Tigers are 1-5.
James Madison took a 33-30 lead into halftime, then Towson (7-13, 2-6) tied the game on a Josh Thornton 3-pointer.
The Dukes used a 19-3 run to lead 52-36 with 12:53 left. The Tigers closed to 64-59 with 1:31 left, but Andre Semonov hit a layup and the Dukes hit four free throws.
Julius Wells and Pierre Curtis added 11 points apiece for James Madison and Devon Moore and Semonov each had 10.
Robert Nwankwo scored a career-high 13 points, all in the first half, and Robert Coleman also had 13 for the Tigers. Thornton added 12.
