College of Charleston tops Appalachian State 88-80
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Andrew Goudelock scored a career-high 33 points as College of Charleston beat Appalachian State 88-80 on Wednesday night.
Goudelock shot 12-for-15 from the field, including 6-for-7 from 3-point range. Tony White, Jr. added 13 points for the Cougars (15-3, 7-1 Southern Conference), and Dustin Scott scored 12.
After trailing by 10 points with less than five minutes remaining in the game, Appalachian State (6-10, 3-5) put together a 9-4 run to cut the lead to 79-74 with 57 seconds left. But the Mountaineers would get no closer, as the Cougars shot 9-for-10 from the free-throw line the rest of the way to ice the game.
Donald Sims scored 15 points to lead the Mountaineers. Eduardo Bermudez added 14, and Kellen Brand and Josh Hunter scored 13 apiece.
