Wis.-Green Bay cruises over Youngstown St., 78-61

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)—Five Wisconsin-Green Bay players scored in double figures and Youngstown State’s offense shot only 33 percent as the Phoenix won 78-61 on Saturday night.

Green Bay (13-5, 6-1 Horizon League) led by as many as 25 points in the first half. The Phoenix defense held the Penguins (5-12, 2-6) to about 20 percent shooting before halftime.

Green Bay extended its lead to as much as 32, doubling up Youngstown State 64-32 midway through the second half. The lead was capped by a run fueled by back-to-back fast-break dunks by Terry Evans.

The Phoenix had impressive scoring balance. Mike Schachtner, Troy Cotton and Ryan Tillema all led the way with 11 points apiece. Evans and Randy Berry each had 10 points.

DeAndre Mays led Youngstown State with a game-high 22 points.
