Bramos leads Miami of Ohio over Kent St. 66-55
KENT, Ohio (AP)—Michael Bramos scored the final 8 points for Miami of Ohio and finished with 24 as the RedHawks beat Kent State 66-55 on Saturday afternoon.
Bramos hit a layup with 1:08 left and then drained six free throws down the stretch to seal the win for the RedHawks (9-6, 2-1 Mid-American Conference). Antonio Ballard had 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in only his second game since injuring his hand during practice Dec. 5. Eric Pollitz added 12 points and three steals.
Al Fisher led Kent (8-9, 1-2) with 14 points and 6-for-7 shooting from the line. Mike McKee came off the bench to add 12 points with four 3-pointers.
Miami took a double-digit lead minutes into the game and fended off several comebacks by the Golden Flashes as coach Charlie Coles notched his 216th win, tying him with former coach Darrell Hedric for the most wins by a Miami coach.
