Davidson rolls past Georgia Southern 89-68
STATESBORO, Ga. (AP)—Stephen Curry scored 28 points to lead Davidson to an 89-68 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Curry, the nation’s leading scorer at 29.1 points a game entering Saturday, was only 11 of 30 from the field (3 of 16 from the 3-point line) as the Wildcats (14-3, 7-0 Southern Conference) won their 37th consecutive regular season conference game.
The Wildcats took a 23-10 lead on Bryant Barr’s 3-pointer with 11:38 in the first half and led 49-24 on Curry’s jumper with 2:10 remaining. Davidson led by 28 points with 8:01 left in the game.
Georgia Southern (5-9, 3-3) never led.
Andrew Lovedale scored 16 points and had 15 rebounds for Davidson. Will Archambault scored 14 points and Barr added 11.
Ben Drayton scored 16 points and Antonio Hanson added 14 for the Eagles. Julian Allen had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
