Buffalo beats Ohio 70-66
AMHERST, N.Y. (AP)—Calvin Betts scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds as Buffalo snapped Ohio?s five-game winning streak with a 70-66 in Mid-American Conference play Saturday.
The Bulls overcame a nine-point deficit in the second half with an 11-1 run capped off when Betts? lay-up gave Buffalo (10-5, 2-1) a 60-59 lead with 2:11 left.
Jerome Tillman led Ohio (9-7, 2-1) with 21 points and eight rebounds. Steven Coleman scored 16 points with 4 rebounds and Tommy Freeman scored 11 points.
Ohio led at halftime, shooting 53.6 percent while draining 7-of-13 from beyond the arc. The Bobcats trailed early by as much as eight points, but an 11-3 run keyed by 3-pointers by Coleman and Justin Orr led to a 37-31 lead at the break.
Ohio opened the second half slowly, hitting just 1 of their first nine shots. The Bobcats shot 44.4 percent, going 24-of-54, while Buffalo was 23-of-56 for 41.1 percent.
