Northeastern defeats Delaware 67-47
NEWARK, Del. (AP)—Nkem Ojougboh and Matt Janning scored 12 points each and Northeastern never trailed in winning its fifth straight game with a 67-47 victory over Delaware on Thursday night.
The Huskies, who jumped out to a 15-2 lead to start the game, have now won all eight meetings with the Blue Hens since the two schools joined the Colonial Athletic Association in 2005.
The Huskies (11-5, 6-0) never led by fewer than seven points in the second half and went up by as many as 20 points in the closing minutes. The loss was the fourth in a row for Delaware (7-11, 1-5).
Manny Adako and Chaisson Allen added 10 points apiece for Northeastern.
Jim Ledsome, who had 10 points and nine rebounds, was the only Blue Hen to score in double figures. Delaware shot just 30.9 percent (17-of-55) from the floor and 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from the foul line.
