Radford defeats Charleston Southern 82-53

RADFORD, Va. (AP)—Artsiom Parakhouski scored 19 points and had 14 rebounds in Radford’s 82-53 win over Charleston Southern on Monday night.

The victory was the fourth straight and the fifth consecutive Big South win for the Highlanders (8-9, 5-1), marking the best start to the Big South season since beginning the 1999-2000 slate 6-0.

The Highlanders started the game on a 13-1 run, led by six points from Parakhouski.

Radford led by as many as 22 points, when Parakhouski put the Highlanders ahead 53-31 with 16:12 to play.

Parakhouski, tied for No. 16 in the nation in rebounds heading into the game (10.2), led Radford in a 37-29 rebounding margin over the Buccaneers (5-10, 1-4).

Kenny Thomas chipped in 18 points and Joey Lynch-Flohr added 15 for the Highlanders.

Kelvin Martin, Jamarco Warren and Omar Carter each had 12 points for Charleston Southern, which lost its seventh straight.
