Jacksonville beats Kennesaw State 82-61
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Marcus Allen scored 19 points and was one of four Jacksonville players to score in double figures in an 82-61 rout of Kennesaw State on Sunday.
Ben Smith added 13 points, Ayron Hardy had 12 and Lehmon Colbert chipped in with 10 for the Dolphins (6-8, 5-1 Atlantic Sun Conference).
The Owls (5-9, 1-4) also had four double-figure scorers as Jon-Michael Nickerson led the way with 14, Kelvin McConnell had 13, Spencer Dixon scored 12 and Jonathan Whipple added 10.
The Dolphins led by six at the break and the Owls would pull within 47-43 early in the second, but Jacksonville’s 16-4 run during a seven-minute stretch in the frame sealed the victory.
Jacksonville outrebounded Kennesaw State 43-26, and scored 52 points in the paint.
