Hooper, Rohnert score 14 in Denver’s 58-47 win
DENVER (AP)—Nate Rohnert and Andrew Hooper had 14 points each as Denver snapped a three-game losing streak with a 58-47 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday.
Brian Stafford added 13 points for Denver (7-9, 2-3 Sun Belt Conference).
Rudy Turner had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Louisiana-Monroe (5-11, 1-4), which lost its 13th straight road game. Malcolm Thomas added 12 points for the Warhawks.
Trailing 33-29, reserve Travis Hallam’s two 3-pointers sparked an 8-0 run in the second half that put Denver ahead 37-33 with 9:53 left. Hooper added two more 3-pointers in a two minute stretch to give Denver a 45-35 with 6:58 remaining.
Louisiana-Monroe was never closer than eight the rest of the way.
Stafford scored nine points in the first half on 3-for-6 3-point shooting.
