Watt’s double-double leads Islanders

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP)—Demond Watt scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Texas A&M-Corpus Christi snap a three-game slide with a 70-44 victory over Central Arkansas on Saturday night.

Kevin Palmer scored 17 points and Filip Toncinic added 14 the Islanders (7-9, 1-0 Southland). It was the fewest points allowed this season by Texas A&M-CC, which held the Bears to only four second-half field goals.

Mitch Rueter had 10 points and was the only player to score in double digits for Central Arkansas (7-7, 0-1).
