Belmont beats Campbell 87-54
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Alex Renfroe scored 15 points to lead five Bruins in double figures as Belmont beat Campbell 87-54 on Saturday night.
Renfroe was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, and also grabbed nine rebounds for the Bruins (8-6, 4-1 Atlantic Sun Conference), who won their third straight game. Shane Dansby scored 14 points for Belmont as Matthew Dotson, Andy Wicke and Keaton Belcher each scored 13.
With a 16-point halftime lead, Belmont opened the second half with a 30-7 run to take a 68-29 lead with 10:10 remaining.
The Camels (6-9, 3-3) were led by Matt Gwynne, who scored 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting. Jonathan Rodriguez added 11 points.
The Bruins shot 61.1 percent from the field (33-for-54), including 60 percent from 3-point range (15-for-25). Campbell shot 33.9 percent (21-for-62), and made only 2 of the 20 3-pointers they attemped (10 percent).
