Morehead State defeats Tennessee Tech 64-62

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP)—Leon Buchanan scored 22 points and Morehead State defeated Tennessee Tech 64-62 on Thursday night.

The Eagles (7-9, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference) led 64-61 with 2 seconds left when Frank Thomas went to the free-throw line for Tennessee Tech (8-6, 2-2). Thomas hit the first free throw before intentionally missing the second, coming up with the loose ball on the rebound and missing the 15-footer at the buzzer.

Demonte Harper added 18 points and Kenneth Faried grabbed 16 rebounds for Morehead State.

The Eagles built their largest lead of the game, 57-44, with 5:25 left in the game before the Golden Eagles brought the deficit to 59-58 with 2:18 remaining on a 14-2 run.

The Golden Eagles were led by D.J. Lindsay with 20 points and Alex Davis with 10.

Morehead State outrebounded Tennessee Tech 50-34.
