Tenn.-Martin beats Murray St. 75-71
MARTIN, Tenn. (AP)—Lester Hudson scored 28 points, including a pair of last-second free throws, to help Tennessee-Martin hold off Murray State 75-71 on Monday night.
Murray State led 66-65 with 3:46 left after Tyler Holloway hit a jumper, but Tennessee-Martin went on a 10-5 run that started with two Reuben Clayton free throws at the 3:03 mark and ended with Hudson’s clinching shots.
Olajide Hay added 16 points and Marquis Weddle had 15 for the Skyhawks (8-5, 1-2 Ohio Valley Conference).
Kevin Thomas led the Racers (6-7, 1-2) with 21 points, Isacc Miles added 18 and Holloway and Jeffery McClain had 10 apiece.
Murray State outshot Tennessee-Martin from the field—48.3 percent (28 of 58) compared to 41.9 percent (26 of 62)—but hit just 10 of 20 free throws. The Skyhawks were 17 of 22 from the line in the win.
