Northeastern defeats Hofstra 73-50
BOSTON (AP)—Manny Adako scored 16 points as Northeastern defeated visiting Hofstra, 73-50, on Monday night.
The Huskies (8-5, 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association) scored the game?s first 11 points and never trailed. They led by at least 15 points throughout the second half and opened up their biggest lead at 51-24 with 14:05 remaining.
Chaisson Allen had a strong all-around game for Northeastern with eight points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists.
Hofstra (9-5, 1-2 CAA) had more than twice as many turnovers (17) as baskets (seven) in the opening half.
Northeastern?s Adako and Eugene Spates had 21 points at halftime, outscoring the Pride by themselves as the Huskies had a 33-18 lead at the break.
Nkem Ojougboh scored 13 points, Matt Janning added 10 and Spates had nine for the Huskies.
Hofstra, which finished with 25 turnovers and 16 field goals, was led by Cornelius Vine?s eight points.
