Campbell beats Kennesaw St. 77-67
BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP)—Jonathan Rodriguez scored 22 points to lead Campbell in a 77-67 win against Kennesaw State on Monday night.
Matt Gwynne added 17 points for the Camels (5-8, 2-2 Atlantic Sun Conference), who shot 51 percent from the field (26 of 51) en route to victory. Rodriguez hit both of his attempts from 3-point range.
Kelvin McConnell led the Owls (5-7, 1-2) with 22 points, Kurtis Woods scored 18 and Spencer Dixon had 14. McConnell shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
The Owls shot 40.4 percent from the field (21 of 52) in the loss.
The Camels scored 36 points in the paint compared to 14 for the Owls, and Campbell got 17 points from its bench.
