Ill. St. downs Creighton 86-64

NORMAL, Ill. (AP)—Illinois State remained undefeated Saturday as Osiris Eldridge scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Redbirds to an 86-64 victory over Creighton on Saturday.

Illinois State (14-0, 3-0 Missouri Valley Conference) led by four points going into half time, but the Redbirds came back from the break to outscore Creighton (12-3, 2-1) 51-33 in the second period.

The Redbirds had five players in double digits with Champ Oguchi adding 14 points, Dinma Odiakosa and Lloyd Phillips each scoring 13 points and Emmanuel Holloway with 11 points.

Eldridge also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Kenny Lawson Jr. led Creighton with 12 points. P’Allen Stinnett and Booker Woodfox each added 11 points for the Bluejays.

The defeat ends a nine-game winning streak for the Bluejays. Creighton’s 22-point loss is the team’s largest this year.
