ETSU beats Jacksonville 84-82
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP)—Courtney Pigram scored a career-high 39 points and Mike Smith hit a game-winning shot with 4 seconds left to lift East Tennessee State to an 84-82 win on Saturday.
Pigram hit 14 of 22 from the field and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line for the Buccaneers (9-4, 3-0 Atlantic Sun Conference). Kevin Tiggs scored 13 points and Smith finished with 11.
The Dolphins (3-8, 2-1), who led by four points at halftime, lost despite having six players score in double figures and outrebounding the Buccaneers 37-30.
Lehmon Colbert led the Dolphins with 15 points, Ayron Hardy and Evan Jefferson added 14 apiece, Ben Smith had 13, Travis Cohn tallied 11 and Marcus Allen chipped in 10.
The Buccaneers were 6-for-11 from beyond the arc in the game, and the Dolphins hit 12 of 26 from long range.
