Loyola of Maryland beats Canisius 86-62
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Jamal Barney scored 41 points as Loyola of Maryland beat Canisius 86-62 on Saturday.
Brett Harvey scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds as Loyola (5-9, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) halted a two-game losing streak.
Julius Coles led Canisius (5-8,0-3 MAAC) with 15 points.
Loyola took a 36-29 lead at halftime. Barney scored 20 of his 41 points in the first half, going 7-of-9 from the floor. The Greyhounds took advantage of 10 Canisius turnovers while the Golden Griffins fell victim to poor shot selection, hitting on just 10 of 24 tries.
Loyola opened the second half with an 13-3 run for a 17-point lead.
The Greyhounds shot 47.5 percent (29-of-61) for the game while Canisius was 22-of-52.
