The Owls were 9-for-36 in the first half as Georgia took a 34-22 halftime lead. Brewer hit a pair of 3s en route to nine points by intermission.
Georgia led 40-24 early in the second half, but the Owls crept back into the game, led by guard Spencer Dixon, who scored 13 points in under four minutes. Kennesaw State pulled within 55-46 with 9:05 left, but a steal and a layup by Dustin Ware and a 3-pointer by Thompkins ended any upset momentum.
