E. Ill. downs Missouri Valley 80-51
CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP)—Romain Martin had 28 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Eastern Illinois to a 80-51 victory over Missouri Valley College on Wednesday.
Eastern Illinois (4-8) led by two points going into halftime, but improved after the break to outscore Missouri Valley (5-4) 50-23 in the second period.
Tyler Laser had 11 points for Eastern Illinois and T.J. Marion added ten points. Matt Dorlack fouled out with three points in a game that had both teams in foul trouble. Missouri Valley had four players with four fouls apiece. Besides Dorlack, Eastern Illinois had two players with four fouls.
Missouri Valley’s shooting fell from 43.5 percent in the first period to 18.2 percent in the second. Ousmane Cisse had a game-high 11 rebounds for Eastern Illinois.
Eastern Illinois led by as many as 29 points.
