Samford defeats McNeese State 57-52

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP)—Josh Bedwell and Josh Davis were each 4-for-7 from 3-point range to lead Samford past McNeese State 57-52 on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (5-5) scored 33 points from behind the 3-point arc, shooting 45.8 percent from long range (11 of 24).

Bedwell and Andy King scored 14 points each for Samford and Davis added 12.

The Bulldogs led by as many as 10 points with 3 minutes to play before McNeese State cut the lead to two with 1:15 left. But the Cowboys (5-6) couldn’t pull any closer, losing their third game in a row.

John Pichon led the way for McNeese, scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Diego Kapelan chipped in with 14 points and Elbryan Neal had nine rebounds for the Cowboys.
