Garrison leads Niagara over St. Bonaventure, 83-65
OLEAN, N.Y. (AP)—Rob Garrison scored a career-high 23 points to lead Niagara to an 83-65 victory over Little Three rival St. Bonaventure Tuesday.
Benson Egemonye and Anthony Nelson scored 14 points apiece for the Purple Eagles (9-2, 1-0). Bilal Benn contributed 12 points and had 11 rebounds.
Andrew Nicholson led the Bonnies (7-4, 0-0) with a career-high 23 points and seven rebounds. Ray Blackburn scored 14 points and Maurice Thomas and Jonathan Hall added eight points each.
St. Bonaventure jumped out to an 8-2 lead to start the game, but Niagara kicked off a 20-6 run with 15:18 remaining in the first half and never let up.
The Bonnies, who only hit two 3-pointers on the night, cut the lead to 13 points with 6:58 remaining but would get no closer.
