SE Louisiana defeats Jackson State 70-51
HAMMOND, La. (AP)—Kevyn Green and Patrick Sullivan scored 18 points apiece to help Southeastern Louisiana defeat Jackson State 70-51 on Saturday.
The Lions (6-4) scored the first six points of the game and never trailed, taking a 34-24 lead into halftime.
The Tigers (1-10) drew within seven points at 55-48 with 5:39 left, but Southeastern Louisiana used a 15-2 run to put the game out of reach.
The Lions made 46.3 percent of their shots from the field (25 of 51) compared to 33.9 percent for the Tigers (20 of 59). Jackson State struggled from beyond the arc, going 1-for-14 (7.1 percent), while Southeastern Louisiana was 7-for-17 (41.2 percent).
Sullivan added 12 rebounds for the Lions, while Chris Cyprian had 13 points and Warrell Span chipped in eight points and 10 rebounds, all defensive.
Darrion Griffin led the Tigers with 15 points and nine rebounds.
