Arkansas beats Stephen F. Austin 67-51
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP)—Michael Washington scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Arkansas to a 67-51 win against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.
Washington was one of four Arkansas players to score in double figures, joining Courtney Fortson (13 points), Stefan Welsh (12) and Jason Henry (12). The double-double was Washington’s third straight and fifth this season.
He played a pivotal role in an 11-0 run that gave Arkansas (8-1) a 35-24 lead at halftime.
Washington started the spurt with consecutive dunks and ended the half with a blocked shot at the buzzer.
After Stephen F. Austin cut the deficit to 36-30 early in the second half, Washington scored six more points during a 14-4 Arkansas run that helped the Razorbacks hold their lead.
Josh Alexander scored 17 points for the Lumberjacks (6-3).
